How to Fix Teclast X98 Air II Google Play Store Crashed Issue

Good News  The Teclast X98 Air II Google Play Store crashed issue has been fixed,  Geekbuying has tested it.

Teclast X98 Air II

It was caused by the old version of Google Play Store app which was pre-installed. It can work after update to the latest version.

There is an easy method updating form the Teclast APP store, which has been pre-installed.  But it is Chinese even if you change the system language to English.  So I will share images to show how to update easily.

First, make sure your tablet has been connected to internet, then click the button as below in red line to enter Teclast APP store:

Note: If your tablet hasn’t “Teclast App Store”, please go to “Setting–Apps–All”, enable the Teclast App Store.

1

2nd,  click the top right corner button to enter app management:

2

3rd,  find the Google Play Store, click the button at the rightmost of it,  it should be like the up icon before you click.  Click to update, after finished, it should be the icon which shows as my image. and the version should be 5.0.38

3

Try it, everything will be ok.

  1. Not working. I have there play store 5.0.38 with the cross and its not working…

  2. I have followed your instructions and it doesn’t work. The play store still crashes. I even restored it to factory settings then tried your suggestion again with no success. Has this worked for anyone?

  3. No go for me before and after factory reset

  4. Yea I restored it to factory settings too. Worked at the start, but when tried to update or instal apps, it crashed and not working like before. Only now I don´t have anything installed cause of not working play store 🙁 The chines man in store I bought it on aliexpress says it does not support play store cause its china tablet, very nice of them 🙂

  5. If you want to install apps you can use a chrome extension called apk downloader. It downloads the applications apk file directly from the Google play website. Then you just transfer the file to your tablet and open it with the file Explorer app which is preloaded. File explorer will then install the app you download for you. It doesn’t replace the Google play store but you can at least download and install some apps. There is also an app called apk downloader which will allow you to search, download and install any app which is on the play store without having to use the chrome extension. The Amazon store also works. The comments at the bottom of this page ( https://mikecanex.wordpress.com/2014/09/30/surprise-teclast-x98-air-ii/# comments ) have a way to get the play store to work but I have not tried it myself.

  6. I did the same, updated to latest 5.0.38 version but didn’t work at all. Hope someone can come up with a fix soon 🙁

  7. I have successfully installed the google play store using the method explained in the comments to this post: http://mikecanex.wordpress.com/2014/11/15/teclast-x98-air-3g-play-store-fix/ .The comments contain the links you need, and explain some of the problems people have had so it’s well worth reading them beforehand. It only takes 10 mins and a windows computer.
