Ok, Guys, I can’t wait to share the great news i get from Tronsmart.
They will release the first real Amlogic S802 Android TV Box,and they name it Tronsmart Vega S89! I love the name, but i don’t care too much about the name,lol, the specification is really making me excited, let’s check it on Tronsmart official site:

Why am i so excited when i saw the specification?
1) CPU: Amlogic S802 up to 2.0G hz, and Mali-450 Gpu, this should be the most powerful cpu on android tv boxes right now. the Amlogic S802 equal to the Amlogic M802, belong to Amlogic-M8 Series. On the tablet, they call it Amlogic M802, and on TV BOX, they call it Amlogic S802. We have listed the Onda V975M tablet pc which base on the Amlogic M802 chip,and the antutu score on onda v975m is over 30000, check it here:
so it will beat rockchip rk3188 a lot . lol, and don’t forget, the gpu on S802 is Mali 450, also better than the rk3188 Mali 400.also here is a compare table between different amlogic series:
well, i forget to mention the most important thing, as we all know, the rockchip is not open source, so XBMC hardware decoding is almost impossible(except the Minix NEO series, they pay xbmc to make their device support xbmc hardware decoding), but on Amlogic chip, it is differenct, XBMC will support amlogic chip directly for hardware decoding. so i think i can directly run XBMC on this Tronsmart Vega S89 and do hardware decoding without any problem, i will test and report back when i get the sample.
2) support 4K*2K, well, if you follow 2014 CES, you should know, the CES is full of 4K TV, so 4K will be very hot in 2014, we already get a 4K TV, and we will test on this Tronsmart Vega S89.
3) Android 4.4 pre-installed. As we all know, on android 4.4, google add ART mode, and it improve the total android performance. i can’t wait to check a android tv box which come with android 4.4 directly;
4) Dual Band wifi, before most of the routers are just supporting 2.4Ghz, but there will be more and more dual band routers soon,and with the 5Ghz support, we can get better miracast performance. so mirror your tablet/smartphone screen to TV via tronsmart Vega S89 will be intersting!
The tronsmart haven’t told us the detail price and the real release date for this Tronsmart Vega S89. Just tell us they will have some samples next week.
Once i get the sample, i will write detail reviews, and put the presale link on our site.

Do you think that it will have TDT USB support to record TV??
I think this is a lack in these kind of devices. Very few devices has TDT onboard, and a lot of have problems when plug TDT external.
