UPdate on 14th, Jan, people report flash this firmware on V3 version, the wifi don’t work, we have transfered the problem to factory,and wait for solutions.
Some days ago, i post the android 4.4 kitkat firmware for AP6210 device, however, that firmware don’t support Tronsmart MK908, so after talk with tronsmart, they release this new beta firmware for Tronsmart MK908, but just worked for V5 board, for V1 board, i am still pushing them to release.

Please notice, this is just BETA FIRMWARE, there should be some bugs, we hope you can help to report, and we will transfer to factory, and push them to release the official version asap.

Once again Tronsmart an epic fail. Their support and technology stinks (3 different versions of an MK908 is laughable and they scammed their original customers who purchased the malfunctioning V1 devices and now with no adequate support) They seem to have forgotten the V1 devices and why do they need to be pushed to support the V1 devices. Refer to Finless post on Tronsmart device- He recommends to RUN from the devices supplied by this company and I support this view. As usual geekbuying will not post this comment. but one thing is clear. I have advised all my friends and colleagues not to buy anything branded tronsmart.

we are so sorry to give you such trouble. Tronsmart also don’t want this, the reason for change the version is due to the rockchip and some IC suplier, you can send back the V1 verison MK908 back to us, and we will change to you the newest V5 version. please contact our customer service.

Thanks for the ROM. I have been able to flash this on my mk908 v5 and everything seems to be working fine including wifi. However, this ROM doesnt seem to be pre-rooted and I am having trouble installing SuperSU on this ROM. Also the ROM seemstobe missing the pre-packaged applications that were available in my original ROM including wifi display, mediacenter etc.
Can I send back my MK908 V3 too? Bluetooth SPP never worked well despite trying many different firmware versions.
We have got a new firmware which should fit for V3 and V1 version, please stay tuned, we are uploading.
Where is the HDMI passthrough? Except for this, everything is working exceptionnally well!

I installed this on my MK908 V5. Everything is working well. Wifi, 3g usb modem, sounds, 1080p video, etc…
But there’s no shutdown button so I disconnected from main power to switch off. After reboot there’s some problems with display, but corrected with next boot.
Not rooted. so can’t install soft power buttons which need root.
I’m now going to swutch over to Finless 1.7a ROM

It was easy to flash. working very well. very fast and responsive compared to stock 4.2.2 and finless 1.7a (4.2.2).
The cons were…
1) no shutdown button. Disconnecting from power caused system error.
2) not rooted. (and thus cant install soft shutdown button)
I’m hoping to switch back to finless 1.7a.
Wifi is not stable, sometimes it went off sometimes and nothing I could do to bring it back, however it was showing as if it was at 100%. Not really cool when watching youtube.
For me it’s a huge roadblock… hoping that finless would resolve this 😉
any new 4.4 roms out for the mk908 v5, has TronSmart not released anything since, like the rom but need a shutdown option and because its not rooted can’t install any of the popular shutdown apps available.
Volume up/down buttons on task bar, are not functioning properly. When Vol. down is pressed it’s muted. and when Vol. up is pressed it’s set to maximum volume.
Please correct this error too.
My MK908 is powered through USB power of the TV, but only with that ROM (I tried original and finless), the color screwed all entirely and it’s not usable. I must start the tv, and after that plug the device. I tested on hot close (while in use, I close the TV), also I rooted my device and tested again… with some 3rd party closing app and it’s the same issue.

I believe theres alot of people waiting on the full rom or at least a fix to the shutdown button missing.
that’s a joke.expect update for so long and it seemed like they forgot about us. …
i too waiting for release, no more buying products if not supported.
It’s still under developing, i will push the factory to release, no worry.
