Today, we just get a new beta firmware from Tronsmart, it is a beta android 4.4.2 firmware for their tv boxes. they release it before the christmas, so maybe, they think it is a good christmas gift for us? lol.
Anyway, here is what we found for this firmware:
1 This Rom is base on the Android 4.4 firmware on tablet, so you will find some battery information or writings like Tablet.
2 It should just work for AP6210 wifi module. we have tested on the following device:
A Tronsmart MK908ii—-Working!(WIFI AND BLUETOOTH ALL WORKING)
B Tronsmart CX-919—-Working!(WIFI AND BLUETOOTH ALL WORKING)
C GM282—-Working!(WIFI AND BLUETOOTH ALL WORKING)
D GK525—-Working!(WIFI AND BLUETOOTH ALL WORKING)
E iMito QX2—-Working!(WIFI AND BLUETOOTH ALL WORKING)
F IPPLI Mars I2C—-Working!(WIFI AND BLUETOOTH ALL WORKING)
3 Tronsmart MK908 don’t work, it’s strange, and we are talking with factory to check the problem.
4 It is JUST Beta Firmware, we test the basic function, like wifi, bluetooth, camera, MIC all working, however, it must have some bugs, so FLASH AS YOUR OWN RISK!

Ideal, would be to have 4.4 wrapped into finless Rom and have it multibootable into linux as option..

What no MK 908 ?
Do these sticks now support Bluetooth low energy (BLE)? (Android 4.4 can do it if the hardware + drivers are available)
T428 usd the AP6330, not the same wifi module, just stay tuned. i will push them to release!!
Yes, i also feel strange, because MK908 also use AP6210, but i flash, find it can’t work, i have reported to factory,and hope they can release the android 4.4 for MK908 soon. stay tuned.
Please ask the factory to release Kitkat for the TS7 Glacier too 🙂

CX-919II should be the same as our GM282, make sure you get the AP6210 model of CX-919II.

Good joob for CX 919 but here is what does not work :
– sound level
– camera logitech c170
– micro sd not mounted
essential to have sound and camera with google now…

can’t get my gk525 to update. I am using rkbatchtool v1.7.
continuously i get the message:

how did you test/update the GK525 ?
I just changed the firmware on my CX 919ii a couple of days ago to the most recent Finless package… Trouble is since i first flashed it ive not been able to enable WIFI.
Ive tried a few configs but nothing seems to enale the WIFI switch and it remains off.
I have also now tried Tronsmart Android 4.4 Beta Firmware for AP6210 Device.rar &
kasty-tronsmart_mk908ii_cx919_qx2-442-20131225_rooted4.zip
Still no luck, anyone have a clue for me?

If you have problems with root permissions, specially when you try to update the su binary after SuperSu installation, install this toolhttp://www.kingoapp.com/ on your windows pc, connect in adb with moborobo, click Remove Root and after Root Again with this tool. all work well after re-root with this tool.

I Installed the rooted version of this firmware on my CX919 stick:
These issues i found:
– I installed the Ehomemediacenter (V2.0.27_121217) app manually, but the RK Remote Control app (v2.0.3) installed on my phone could not detect the CX919 Android Stick.
– The resolution of this firmware is 1280×672. Icons are huge and the space on my HD TV screen is small. I hope 1920×1080 resolution will be released soon.
– Text under the desktop icons are missing. (because of the resolution)
– The performance is not flawless. I saw on the freaktab forum that kernel is downgraded to 1,2 ghz cpu and 400mhz gpu.
– Missing the buttons to change volume and to reboot/shutdown the android stick.
Positives:
– I could install all types of apps with the rooted firmware (also dutch)
– Wifi is stable
– Android stick is stable, no reboots, crashes
– Usb devices are recognized
– Sound is working well

I can verify.. WiFi does NOT work on Tronsmart T428
Everything else good. 1080p playback is smooth and Bluetooth seemed to work.

Ours are AP6210 model, now we don’t sell the AP6330 version.
This is what i found out today on CX919 with rooted version of this image:
– Logitech Pro 5000 webcam is not recognized. (tested with skype)
– 720P/1080P movies from NAS with XMBC (Gotham 13 30-12 dev build) are not playing well. Sound and display are stuttering directly. On 4.2 Android with XBMC Gotham the 720P movies are playing flawless.
Positive:
Netflix movies are playing well!

GK525 here with android 4.2.2 but have some wifi disconnecting, when using bluetooth keyboard only.
Is 4.4 kitkat solve this issue ?
I just tried this firmware on my new GM282 CX-919II with 2 antenna’s (Orange version)

i have a promblem, in sound settings was be deleted point of wireless sound. now i cant use my wireless keyboard ipazzport810-18vr how headphones. i hope this is will be fix in next patch.
Aargh, need help flashing my GK525.. unit can’t be found in Batchtool 1.7. All drivers are installed, please give a step by step, fool proof instruction on how to do it. unit is rooted. but I can’t seem to get it to work.

My coworkers and I ( about 9 to 10 people) have the T428 , any chance we get the 4.4 soon ? I bought the first one and made them to purchase T428 , now they all blame me since 4.2.2 ROM has some major issues , hopefully we get the 4.4 soon.

I tryed using Netflix without sucess.
Sometime stutters and freese, sometime not load at all.
I used this rom plus boot and kernel from Strauzo for T428.
GK525 finaly updated… (we have to click “switch” button and “restore” on RKBatchtool before to go..)
Now all seem to be fine LAN/WiFi/Sound/Video/Photo etc. ) but Anyway 4.4 is little different and there is no log off button and no sound button on taskbar .. any idea about this ?

Is it 1080p firmware ? Is it possible to add power button and sound on taskbar ?

This is just beta firmware.
About CPU clock speed to 1.2 this is because RK3188-T- models. T for Terrible (crap) limited to 1.2GHz or 1.4GHz. Is it lie and FRAUD to sell this as 1.8GHz RK3188 models because RK3188 models seem to be reserved to tablet now. People have to check before to buy this crap because this CPU do NOT clock to more than 1.4GHz.
Is it possible to get smsc75XX module embedded into this ROM or have the module compiled with 4.4.2 source so I can manually install.

you can use this rom, the tronsmart a928 also use the ap6330. so it can work well on the tronsmart t428.
So…any news about the final rom? All the official roms I tried actually suck.
