Features and release notes for my 1.5 Android 4.2.2 ROM:
1) Rooted and new SU and Superuser applied that supports Android 4.2.2
2) Stock ROM was only 2 Gig of APP space.
BUT you also have parameter file options!
There are also 1gb, 2gb, 4gb and 6gb options.
Read below for how to change that in the flash tool.
Realize if you use this 6gb option, internal SDcard will only have about 600 megs of free space!
3) Debloated of junk APPs and Google Apps you can get from Google Play.
I also updated Google Play and required Google APPs to the latest version.
4) As always, full init.d support! If you do not know what that is… ignore it. For geeks that want to use it. It is there!
5) I re-enabled location services. This is now in the settings menu.
Tested and working with all APPs that use it.
Remember to turn off GPS as we have no GPS.
6) I also re-enabled accessibility options in settings.
7) Gameloft fix. This fixes Gameloft games from crashing to the desktop.
Many of them do not run and crash to the desktop. This is due to a license check based on the device.
Special thanks to Christian Troy for inventing this fix. I modded it for this ROM.
8) Build.prop edit to open up the Google Play store to APPs that normally say “not compatible”.
I am spoofing a Samsung device that will show almost any APP as compatible.
Your device will show up in google play as Samsung device nopt a CX-919 or RKSDK! Understand this please.
I also left the original build.prop in the ROM called build.orig.
If you want to go back, just use ES FIle Explorer or a root file explorer and rename build.prop to build.old
Then rename build.orig to build.prop.
Go into settings, apps, all and go into the Google Play app. Clear the cache and data.
Reboot! You should be back to showing up as a 908.
WARNING if you do this, you need to be using the 1080 kernel or your screen will be oversized!
9) I added a reboot APP that will allow optional reboot options like reboot to bootloader (flash mode).

I also give you the stock latest kernels but these still have the frame skipping issue!

Special note: PJ Andersons pacther does not seem to fix the frame skipping on the stock kernels.
I did not test overclock patching with his patchomatic tool so I do not know if that works.

I just flashed the rom, everything works exept wifi/bt, i turns of by itself. Have cx 919 with 2 external antennas.

I just flashed to 1.6 an WIFI crashes the OS when downloading.. I reflashed and erased NAN 5 times.. Finally I flashed using CX919-RK3188-4.2-1080P and DO NOT CRASH any more… More testing before sending out updates please.. Also It would be really nice if it was a single image. To many options for no reason… Please make a 720p image an 1080p image thats the best of whats working. Then maybe include a folder with other options..
this firmware heets up the cx919 very fast,in less than 5min,when playing some cpu hungry game,which will result to several shutdowns,by the system,very very bad,installed with the default options,seems the cpu is running in the max of 1600Mhz frequency,that might be the problem-and is….
the flashing process is easy,if the steps are followed correctly with no rush,and nothing needs to be changed regarding to flashing,only problem ,there is still many bugs, for instance, my logitech c525 ,is now recognized by this rom :),but the video is not working when i try to use video call in skype,skype just keeps restarting with no luck,otherwise video seems to work in other testing apps,as well as if games played for more than 3-5 min-hungry cpu games,stick restarts,due to high temperatures generated by the 1600Mhz option
I love the this firmware and I was using the version from June. In this version all graphics/photos are scharp and before the were blurry/blotched.
I use FireFox nightly for browsing and I had not much pleasure with it because each time the stick restarted when I used FireFox. Normally I have the stick powered by a USB port and to have more current I hooked it up to a batterypack.
I started first the standard browser and the corner of my eye saw that one led of the batterypack was going dark each time I did something. That is odd because the batterypack was fully charged.
Now I started FireFox and when browsing even all three leds went dark and then the stick restarted. So I hooked up a second USB cable to have even more current available and now the stick is stable like a rock and I can’t crash it anymore!!!!!
I like FireFox very much because of the many add-ons but it is so much slower and more power hungry as the default browser that I switched to the default browser.
So if you stick is crashing all the time try a second USB cable.

It has the same problem than a previous ROM, the micro SD card is unmounted Spontaneous and repeatedly. I’m using all default options (kernel720_simon_no_oc.img)
Also the internal SD wiil unmount when a camera is connected.
DSLR controller work great and this is reason I bought this nice stick.

I installed the ROM, but the only problem is that it shows no picture at all TVs from port HDMI. Does anyone know why this happens? Please help.

I installed this version, but my screen keeps flickering. I looked on internet the internet and setting back the resolution does not work. Besides the flickering also my WiFi does not work anymore.

are you sure you are having the CX-919 device? also please make sure you flashed successfully? because we have tested this custom rom,and all work good.

Thanks first of all to your team for providing so regular updates, but i don’t know why i am facing this problem please help me in this matter, i downloaded all of your firmware/rom and tried one by one so that any one of it can fit on my cx-919 but i am facing same problem in all of there, when i go to android settings and change display setting to 1080 or anything above, my tv screen starts flickering, the display keeps on flickering for cx 919. i am trying for its solution from last 1 month but nothing successful, can you suggest any solution?
Or please tell me how to restore orignal factory firmware/rom so at least i could use it as it was before.

Hi Eric – I have tried all these ROM’s listed on your site and can’t get
any of them to work? My CX-919, rk3188T stick will not even load many
of them – I get various errors and I have tried 3 different USB cables,
three different power supplies of the same specs, different USB ports on
my Windows 7 computer, different versions of the loader and a different
computer also? Some will load onto the CX-919 but either won’t boot
into Android or if they do boot will crash when i try to do anything
like move the mouse for setup of Android? I just want a stable ROM /
kernel combination that will run this TV stick with at least 720p video and run Netflix properly. Can you suggest a fix?? – Greg

The firmware on the Tronsmart site is not KitKat (v.4.4) it is old Jellybean (v4.2) that has some bugs in it. I am looking for a stable KitKat version.
I’m sorry to report that finless ROM 1.5 and 1.6b that i tried doesn’ t work with CX 919 RK3188T chip (bought from Geekbuying). I keep getting black screen while booting, not even android logo. It seems to give no signal, on the contrast it seems working fine with RK3188. Is it true or am i doing something wrong?
I had video problems with latest stock firmware and i wanted to try a custom ROM.
I flashed another ROM but had problems with the mouse cursor mainly…
I tried several times to flash Finless 1.6b but even if installation
seems OK, i keep gettin blank black screen when connecting to TV.
Same thing happened with 1.5 but at least had the message “no connection signal, check your device’s HDMI out”.
After Finless tool says “Run OK” how much time do i have to wait untill i unplug the device and plug into my TV??
