Already tested in our Rikomagic MK802IV / QC802/ UG007B and MK809III, all working, here we go:

This ROM is rooted!
What is Working:
– Bluetooth (Tested with Mouse and Keyboard)

– Netflix (Patch includes) Install Netflix and Restart

How to install?
1 Download the firmware above;
2 Decompress the file you just download;
3 click” RKDevelopTOOL_V1.37″ folder and run”RKandroidtool”
4 find a paper clip and press the recovery button in QC802/MK809III/UG007B (reovery hole is in the side of those tv sticks) and AT THE SAME TIME, put the micro usb cable in the OTG port(not the DC port) and connect with your PC;
5 now your pc should inform you find a new device, and go to “my computer‘ –“device manager” to install the drivers, the driver is also in the download file.
6 after install the driver, the RKANDROIDTOOL will inform you foundRKandroid rock usb, and then click” RUN” button.
Do i need to root mk809iii before install the above rooted rom?
Will this custom ROM make the device able to run XBMC and if so, will it enable HW accelerated graphics in XBMC?
No, you don’t need to root it before. That is the beauty of it 🙂 Have it running on my CloudnetGO CR9 and it’s pretty smooth. Had to change the maximum frequency from 1600MHz to 1200MHz because of overheating, now everything looks good.

Can someone tell me how to increase the internal memory for mk908iii? my device has 8 gb nend memory and internal shows 100mb free after installing only few apps…. now i cant even install 1 mb application because pop message shows “insufficient memory”…… I check over the web that it can be increase via Link2sd software.. but how to do it i didn’t get it properly anywhere? please help… thanx in advance….
Hi guys… when i connect my Android stick with PC it shows new hardware found… but i cant able to install drivers…. i have windows 7 and when ever i go to device manager and update the driver and give path to driver folder… nothing happened… pls help… what should i do?
Netflix still doesn’t work properly – picture is still unwatchable. Am I doing something wrong. I have followed directions and installed netflix then rebooted the stick. Netflix was still not working – what is this ‘patch’ and do I have to do anything else?

I installed the ROM, everything went fine but I have no Wifi and I can’t seem to turn it on either. Same for Bluetooth.
Any ideas?

Ok I got it working in a dirty way.
What I did was copy the \rockdev\Image\kernel1.img file from this version:
http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.php?6028-MK802IV-New-Wifi-Chip-Neomode-Custom-Rom-Version-1-0
And copied it into \rockdev\Image from the version downloaded from this post.
Also don’t forget to change kernel.img to kernel1.img in the rkandroid tool on line 4.
If you have installed other roms make sure to click “erase IDB” first.

This is a wonderful firmware! Everything works fine. It so happened that I bricked my stick by trying to flash the firmware intended, as it turned out, for RK3066. As there was no backup, I flashed this one and was rewarded with splendid performance by far surpassing stock firmware. I got 14967 points in AnTuTu. Big respect and gratefulness to Neomode!
Oh, guys, I forgot to tell you that I own QC802.
I have tested this custom rom on my new MK809III works 100% better then original version.
The only things I have not tested is Bluetooth and Ethernet but all other hardware seems to work.
If any one know on how to make a Logitech 400R more compatible with the MK809 like key mapping ETC would be great?

Ok. I’ll try again. Maybe you guys deleted it because I gave a link? (Which had more info if someone wanted to read up on it).
Anyways, if someone is going to install this ROM, check your wifi/bluetooth chipset FIRST. I have an MK809III AK3188 with a wifi/bluetooth chipset AP6210. After I installed this ROM, my wifi and bluetooth would not turn on.
Also, if you have Windows 8.1, use another computer to install this ROM. I am able to dump with it (I backed up my original ROM), but the second I hit “Run” (as in the above instructions), I suddenly got disconnected from USB and could no longer connect. I kept getting an error. Windows 8.1 also wouldn’t let me manually install the .inf (driver) file. I even turned off the driver signature verification and it still wouldn’t do it. I kept getting an error for that too. I ended up having to borrow a friend’s computer to flash the custom ROM.
Your device should use different wifi module . please open the case,and check what’s the model of your wifi module.
