ok, guys, this is a new stock android 4.2 rom for Tronsmart T428, actually i get it some days ago, but i haven’t released it, i have got some bugs report from some customers, and already transfered that to tronsmart, and wait for a fix.
This stock rom release before i report that problem to them, so please don’t be upset when you see there is no much fix for those problem, but here is what the changelog for this rom:
1 add some patch to improve the video play;
2 make the internal storage to 2GB;( the first is only 500MB,that is bad)
3 add the ethernet in the setting;

can I report to you the problem with VPN services? They are not working… it is not possible to connect to any server using VPN services (like VPN1click, hidemyass and so on)

Video playback in the 4.2 rom is just fine, you should have told them to fix it in 4.1 rom instead
Is the bluetooth issue fixed? I was having issues with my bluetooth device not pairing and had to dowgrade to 4.1.1 to get it to work. The device paired and worked fine with my asus transformer infinity so i know the device isn’t the problem. Its the t428 that is the problem.
Hi, if I flash this rom will I loose my data?
Another question, how does wifidisplay work?I paired my galaxy s4 with t428 using screen mirroring (miracast) but display of my phone doesn’t appear on tv, is there something I can do?Somebody else tested succesfully this feature?

Ethernet works fine, however, it still lacks the modules dns_resolver.ko, md4.ko and cifs.ko in order to connect to a network share.
Is it planned for the next ROM, otherwise how can we add?

Hi, thanks for the documents about miracast connection, I do everything is reported on the guide except that I use a samsung galaxy s4 instead of nexus 4, I’m able to share screen with official samsung adapter but when I connect s4 to t428 even if I wait an hour I can’t see s4 display showed on tv.
Hi,i just tested, the VPN function is working in my side, i use a china vpn system, called ffvpn. and i can connect.
Thanks for the reply. I flashed the new 4.2 rom and the bluetooth issue still isn’t fixed. Hope they fix it on the next release.
rk remote application has an error. using the application, the device shuts down and opens. the device is switched on, the wifi is off.
How to root (There are links to the previous root conk)
Installed this last week – best rom so far but still some niggles.
Video is not as smooth as Finless 1.4 on 2.2. Especially noticeable on bigger screens.
External drives now working.
Ethernet setting is there but still freezing up when you go the android settings page (fine with rockchip settings page)
VPN works but have to redo it every time after a t428 reset (Credential storage asks for a password but the only security input I made was a pattern – I never set a password. Hence, I end up having to input the wrong password 5 times so I can then delete all credential storage and add the “new” VPN from scratch every time – after reset it still asks for the credential storage password AND then the pattern)
Sixaxis app with PS3 controller working brilliantly (needs root).
EPSXE ps1 emulator working great with OGL plugin and PS3 controller.
Looking forward to the next Rom – hope it comes ready-rooted.
As well would like to know how to root. Described methods of rooting are not working with this rom, at least for me. Furthermore device shows up as “T248” when connected to PC??!
HI,i can answer the vpn problem now, this is not a problem for t428, it is for all of the android device, and it can be solved by go to setting—security—clear credentials. try this.

Hi, thanks for the response on VPN – I did clear the credential storage but it’s no use, I get asked for a password which I did not ever enter. You will also note that in this rom there are no options for Settings – Security – Screen security – Screen lock choice (pattern, pin or password). It’s missing. Maybe this has something to do with it, I cannot reset the password. Anyway, for all that this is a truly fantastic device, it is truly amazing. When you think of all the headache we have with Windows this is nothing.
I can confirm that the Microsoft Lifecam vx800 is working fine as far as the camera goes. Hower the built in microphone is not recognised 🙁
