First guys, this is NOT official roms, if you want to try the 1080P on your MK808/MK808B with Android 4.2.2 OS, then you can follow this instructions:
How to do that?
For MK808 users, you should get this Android 4.2.2 Beta Custom rom installed in your MK808
For MK808B users, you should install the following android 4.2.2 beta custom rom here

And after you flash the above custom rom,you will find your MK808/MK808B are in Android 4.2.2 OS but with 720P output. Then you should flash the following 1080P KERNEL to get the real 1080P output in your Android 4.2.2 MK808/MK808B.

In the above download kernel file, there is fully read me instruction to teach how to just flash the kernel, you should follow them, and after you successfully flashed the 1080p kernel, then you will find you can get 1080p output on your Android 4.2.2 Firmware.
We had successfully tested the firmware, it is working great, here is some screenshot

I have installed the 4.2.2 ROM and MK808B Android 4.2 1080P Kernel update as described here and everything looks OK. When I download Netflix and try to play movies from there i got scrambled picture. Please someone to check and confirm this problem and please advice what should be changed and where. Thanks in advance.

The playing of the 1080 movie is very laggy.
I get this message when I try and run Hulu files on my MK808B.
“Unfortunately Hulu is not supported on your platform”.
I wrote to Geek service and got a reply that said to “flash” my MK808B. They weren’t specific about WHICH flash files to use to fix this problem.
Also they did not provide any instruction on how to flash my device or which files to use.
I have never flashed this unit and am concerned that I will be creating a useless device if I make an error. Maybe I should just return the device and have the factory fix the problem ?
Please respond, I need help. I don’t want to sign up for Hulu Plus if I can’t play their files.

Hi, which hulu version are you use? we don’t get feedback from other customers that hulu don’t work. seems you are not download the android hulu, try to download from google play store. no need to flash the firmware.

I just received today from you the MK808b and it seems to be faulty. It does not display anything on the TV and it will not connect to the computer. The charger’s red light comes on and the blue LED of the MK808 is on. But when I connect to a TV I just get a black screen, nothing else. I’ve tried different cables for everything and 2 different TV’s. I pressed the reset button while trying to connect it to the PC but still nothing! It’s totally dead apart from the light. As a few of my friends also got theirs today they came with Android 4.2.2 so I assume mine is the same. My TV is 720p and my PC is XP. Someone please help???
Hi,please change your USB cable, i guess the usb cable in the package is defective, and if you want your computer to find the device, you should press the recovery button and at the same time connect your mk808b with your computer.
I changed ALL the cables and still just a black screen on the TV when I plug it in. I tried on two different TV’s, both are old however and only 720p. I also pressed the reset button while connecting it to the computer, still will not recognise it. Is it possible that this new ROM shipped with the mk808b will not work on older TV’s of 720p? I did not install anything just plugged it in when I received it and it never worked.

I had the same problem when I updated my mk808b from 4.1 to 4.2….I also have hd ready tv (not full hd)

It is beginning to look like these untested and unapproved ROM (Read Only Memory) files are causing many users problems.
I have decided that I will only install FACTORY approved ROM files which have been fully tested and certified.

Just upgraded, everything works. A bit laggy , when downloading xbmc it asked for SD card. When I put in SD , the file explorer recognizes and it shows up in settings but when installing xbmc it says “no sd card”. Anyways I downloaded xbmc android on pc, transferred file via usb and it installed.

Please ask the manufacturer to make a 4.2.2 to be workable with 720p resolution tv.
@Vinay, I had the same problem but it will work with your 720p TV, you need to connect it first to a proper HD 1080p TV and change the settings to 720p, then it will work on your TV. By default the device comes set at 1080p and it will not work on a lower res TV, so you have to change it.

I received the MK808b recently and have been pretty impressed. I do have an issue I hope you can address and some other comments.
1) The unit was already shipped with 4.2.2 and 1080P was already enabled. However the TV the MK808B was going to does not support this. Upon booting my TV would go into “not supported mode”. Figuring it may have been 1080P I took it to another TV and then dialed it down to 720p. Maybe it would be better to ship 4.2.2 in 720P and allow users to switch to 1080P.
2) My issue: I’m running XBMC 12.2 and I’m having a problem with either MK808B or XBMC 12.2. I am only able to play audio in analog mode. Setting XBMC to HDMI mode for audio I get some terrible popping sound. I sure would like to understand this issue better as I have several movies I’m unable play as their in DTS or 5.1.
It’s been a great device thus far and I hope #2 is fixable.

Received an offer from Geekbuying to flash my box since I don’t know how to do that and don’t know anyone who does. Box frequently drops wifi and I have to go into settings and re-attach to router. I think I am going to try using Ethernet over power line before going through the expense of sending it back to Geekbuying. .
