Again, in the help of leolas, we make the CWM recovery for MK808B, now if you don’t know how to use rkbatch tool to flash the android 4.2 firmware, or if you use Macbook, you can try to flash with this method.

We found some problem with this ROM, freaktab developer is working on a new ROM,please wait for the new upgrade.
Update instruction:
First you should follow this method to install CWM recovery on your MK808B.
And then you should do the below instruction:
1. Download and copy it to a microsd and insert it in the stick.
2. Enter cwm recovery.
3. Wipe data/factory reset
4. Advanced/wipe dalvick cache.
5. Mounts and storage/format sdcard.(recommended, can works without this step, but i suggest to do it. All data in internal sdcard will be lost)
6. Install zip from sdcard/choose zip from external sdcard/ Choose update-4.2.2-mk808b.zip and install.
7. Reboot device.
The first boot is slow, you can wait 3 or 4 minutes, and when you enter in the system it will be slow and lagged, in next reboot it will be fine. The device is rooted by default so only need to install supersu from google play.

after flashing update-4.2.2-mk808b.zip with above instructions, my device automatically rebooted to cwm recovery…inserted of android…!!!
Two times installed…and blackscreen-no booting to system. pls admin you can contact leolas and tell him that??

After flash, restart… CWM loads instead of normal boot, choose Reboot Now, and you get a blank screen.
Disconnect and reconnect power and you are back at CWM…

Hi, sorry to hear your problem, we have tried with the same method, and can make it work, please make sure, 1 you use the mk808 recovery file, not mk808b, and after you upgrade the system,please take off your sd card. have you met the problem after you install the cwm recovery or after you flash the android 4.2.2 firmwarE?
I will search what is the problem. But I installed it in mine without any problems

Ok some more indications.
Be sure that you install this zip from an external_sd. Dont copy it to your internal sd and install from there,
Your external sd must have the file update-4.2.2-mk808b.zip and at least 500Mb free to install all my zips. check it pls.
Wait, and dont install my zip pls, i see some problems if you come from a modified partition rom. Working on it.
Ok now i see clear the problem the update 4.2.2 for mk808B has a different partition size and parameters than mk808 update 4.2.2 and other custom roms.
No way for this moment to change partitions parameters from cwm, i will try to find a solution.
It works in my test cause i come from the update from geekbuying with the correct parameters file to run this rom.
I am working on it.
More news. I found exactly what is the problem.
The new kernel is so big that cant fit in the partitions of the all roms made by now. The people who build this new kernel didn’t use the zImage to build it, and we don’t have full kernel source cause Rockchip don’t share it to us.
It will be difficult to solve. By one side, we cant change partitions side from cwm recovery, so kernel img will dont fit in old partitions rom, and by other side we can’t compile kernel to use zImage, the compressed version of the kernel, WTF we are in the middle of trains crash and without movement.

No, sorry but no way to made a zip flashable by cwm directly from any rom cause the partition space to kernel is small to flash the new kernel 3.0.36+ for mk808b
We need this rom flashed in first time from the classical way (using a pc and rkflashtool) and then we can install this cwm zip to install this rom again 🙁 , that is a nonsense, so sorry.
Both geekbuying and me tested this zip before announce it, but we come both from this rom flashed in the classical way, so we had the partitions size modified by rkfashtool.
I cant fix that, cause we haven’t the kernel sources from Rockchip.
So sorry, the 4.2.2 for mk808b must be installed by the classical way (by a pc).
Yes but there is no official 4.2.2 stable version (yet). Right?
This zip is based in mk808b beta version from here. It is the same rom, but I think the beta 4.2.2 for mk808b rom is stable enought to use. It has some bugs, if you make a cold reboot you will lose wifi conecction, and some more little bugs.
If you need stability you must stay in 4.1.1
But anyway thanks to geekbuying to bring 4.2.2 to us.
And it is a beta rom, maybe the next update will come with more stability and bugs corrected. And maybe the will do a kernel.img image size small so we can use cwm and install this update without need the pc.

need some help, I have a Mk808b and mk808, my mk808B is still in its original state (with factory stock firmware), my already modified Mk 808 with the 4.2, I would mk808 by the original firmware in the same mk808B (wanted the firmware that appears when you turn the logo “goggle TV” logo instead of the site)
has somehow I do that?
I can extract the firmware and put in mk808b mk808 while not having BT will not disrupt anything because iitens are virtually equal correct, the only difference is that the BT.

My TV is not Full hd compatible so when I tried mk808b Fineless custom rom 1.7 it works fine but when I used Android 4.2.2 (both Stock firmware & Fineless 4.2.2 Beta Custom rom ).
Error is showing ‘”Mode not Supported”
So, please do something like it should automatically detect the highest screen resolution of LCD TV.
