A: Otium Shine is an elegant activity monitor that you can wear anywhere. Otium Shine inspire people to become more active, and encourage people to set goals for how much they want to move in a day and complete them. Wear it with different accessories available (clasp, sport band, leather band, necklace) for different wearing locations and different accasions (formal, business, casual, sleeping, swimming).

2.Q: How will Otium Shine help me?
A: People who take the initiative to become more active are much less likely to develop health problems in the future. Otium Shine is a gorgeous device that will empower people to be more proactive about their personal health.

3.Q: What are Otium Shine’s specifications?
A: Width 27.5mm x Depth 3.3mm x Height 27.5mm with a weight of 9.4g. The device runs on a coin cell battery which lasts about 4 monthes. Otium Shine is water-resistant for swimming.

4.Q: What OS versions and hardware models does the app support?
A: The Movnow app is compatible with iOS and Android phones and tablets.

iPhone/ iPad/ iPod
Movnow for iOS app is compatible with devices running iOS 6.1.3 and above and with Bluetooth 4.0. Movnow for iOS works with iPhone 4S,5,5S,5C,iPod 5th Gen, and iPad 3rd & 4th Gen, iPad Mini and iPad Air. You can download the Movnow for iOS app and from the iTunes app store.

Android phones and tablets
Movnow for Android is compatible with devices running Android 4.3 and above with Bluetooth 4.0/ Bluetooth Smart. Shine for Android works with devices such as Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy Note III, Google Nexus 4/5, HTC One. You can download the Movnow for Android app from the Google Play store. If you do not see the download link, your device is not a compatible device.

5.Q: What kind of information does Otium Shine measure?
A: For activity, the app shows step count, distance moved, and calories expended. For sleep, the app shows total hours slept.

6.Q: Is it safe to take into salt water and the pool?
A: Otium Shine is water-resistant for swimming and the anodized aluminum will cope with tough conditions. However, constant exposure to salt water is expected to reduce the device’s working life, but that’s to be expected of any device in those conditions. With appropriate care, there shouldn’t be a problem.

7.Q: How does Otium Shine estimate the calories I’ve burned?
A: Otium Shine estimates your total calories burned each day, which includes: (1)calories related to your physical activities like walking, running, swimming, etc; (2)the basal metabolic rate (BMR) of energy needed just to keep your body alive.

8.Q: Does Otium Shine track other activities?
A: So far, we have focused on tracking walking, running, swimming and cycling. But if you do other kinds of activities, the Otium Shine will automatically do its best to give you credit towards your goal.

9.Q: Where can I buy batteries for Otium Shine?
A: Otium Shine uses a standard CR2032 coin cell battery.

10.Q: Can I change the battery myself?
A: Of course. A special tool for battery replacement is included in the packaging. If you lose your tool, a flathead screw driver or eyeglass repair screwdriver is recommended.

11.Q: How often do I have to charge Otium Shine? How often do I have to change the batteries?
A: There’s no need to charge it! Just switch out the batteries about once every four months (or when the battery stops working)

12.Q: Isn’t it kind of creepy to have computers so close to my body?
A: We’re working on products that we think people will really like to wear. As far as radiation is concerned, Otium Shine generally emits less than 1/10,000th the amount of electromagnetic energy of an average cell.

13.Q: What kind of sensors does Otium Shine use?
A: Shine uses a high precision 3-axis accelerometer to track your activity.

14.Q: Can my pet wear Otium Shine?
A: Sure, but we don’t recommend it since the algorithms might not be accurate for pets.
