Xiaomi has released the Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner 2 on Sep. 19th. Compared with the first generation vacuum cleaner, this new generation robot vacuum cleaner comes with sweeping and mopping function, automatic area cleaning function. At the same time, Mi robot cleaner 2 has enhanced its’ sensors.
The appearance of the Mi robot cleaner 2 is very close to the first generation. The Laser sensors position has changed a little. There are three buttons (Area cleaning, turn on/off and charging back). It comes with the annular indicator to show the power. When the power usage is more than 20%, the light is white. If the light turns red, it means the power usage is less than 20%.
According to the official report, Mi robot cleaner 2 has a comprehensive upgrade in its’ function. Cleaning structure also enhanced. The biggest change is to increase the mopping function. Besides, the filter can absorb water automatically and keep enough water content. The capacity of the dust box increased from 0.42L to 0.48L. And it is very convenient to install and remove the tank.

Xiaomi vacuum cleaner 2 keeps the SLAM algorithm, equipped with a high-precision LDS sensor. The LDS sensor will scan the room at 5 x 360 degrees per second. It can be used to construct the room map in real time, so as to provide the guarantee for the comprehensive path planning.
The maximum suction increased from 1800Pa to 2000Pa to improve cleaning efficiency. Mi robot cleaner 2 improves the ability to avoid obstacles by optimizing its’ wheel suspension system. The barrier height increased from 1.5cm to 2.0cm.
Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum cleaner 2 equipped with 13 kinds of sensors. There is an omnidirectional pressure sensor above the LDS sensor. Its role is to induce a slight collision, to prevent into the low sofa area. Increased soft buffer crash to protect the furniture. With the wall sensor, this sensor makes the cleaner robot always keep a distance of about 10mm from the wall when it is working. In addition, the Mi robot cleaner 2 enhanced the infrared sensor. Compared with the Sharp’s infrared sensor of the last generation, Mi robot cleaner 2 uses STMicroelectronics laser sensor, the calculation is more accurate.
