ROOT your Xiaomi Hongmi and install modified ROMS you will need to download all these files:

– vROOT – Xiaomi Hongmi aka Red Rice ROOT utility
– MobileUncle app
– CWM (extract zip)
– Driver for Windows 7/8
– MIUI Android Multilang ROM 3.8.16

Copy these files to the root of your Hongmi internal SD card:

– MobileUncle apk
– CWM Recovery recovery.img
– MIUIAndroid Multilang ROM

INSTALLING

1. Allow USB Debugging – 7x tap on Settings – About Phone – Android version.
2. Go to Developer options and turn ON USB debugging.
3. Install vROOT on your PC, run it (may ask to update) and connect your phone to PC (if drivers are required, just install them).

4. After successful recognition of your Hongmi press the button marked ROOT and wait for reboot, on your phone screen there will a be new SU app.

5. Install app mobileuncle.toolbox_327.apk

6. Run it and allow ROOT – select option on right

7. Select Recovery Update

Select recovery.img from your SD card

Reboot to CWM (Chinese)

ROM is successfully installed, now make a Factory reset

Reboot to system
