Scooter Motor to Controller Wire Insulation or Connectors Have Melted

Cause analysis

If the insulation or wire connector from the motor to the controller melts, this is due to overloading the motor or controller beyond its design capacity.

If the slope is steep, the vehicle is overloaded, or the vehicle has been modified, it may cause the motor to be overloaded.

This problem can also occur if the motor is overloaded and the coil windings overheat.

How to avoid overloading the motor or controller of an unmodified vehicle

Determine riding conditions and narrow down the range of riding conditions that can cause overloading.

1. Avoid climbing steep hills
2. Avoid riding through bushes, sand, or mud
3. Avoid overloading

How to avoid overloading the motor or controller of a modified or customized vehicle

1. Drive on easier terrain conditions
2. Change the gear ratio between the motor and the wheels to make the vehicle have a lower gear ratio.
