Check if the chainring wobbles from side to side, and inspect for missing or deformed teeth.

Analysis
The chain and sprocket should be replaced as a set to avoid noise and wear issues.
As the chain is used over time, it gradually becomes longer or “stretches,” causing the sprocket teeth to wear and reshape to accommodate the longer chain.
If there are issues when a new sprocket is used with an old chain or an old chain with a new sprocket, consider replacing the chain or sprocket to ensure they work together properly.
