Hello everyone! Today I want to tell you about a nice smartphone which personally I liked very much – UMI EMAX Mini.

It arrives in already familiar box, which UMI uses for it’s phones lately:
Inside we find the smartphone, wall socket original charger, USB-microUSB cable and a manual.

APPEARANCE:
In the upper part of the front panel there’s proximity/light sensors, speaker, front camera and LED indicator, which is invisible when it’s turned off.
Here you can see it in action when it indicates the charging process:
At the bottom we see “Back”, “Home”, “Recents” touch buttons. Central circle isn’t backlit, but other two buttons have white LED backlight.
Here’s the back cover. It has a texture with concentric circles and is nice to hold in hand. It’s also very convenient as it won’t gather your fingerprints and the phone looks neat all the time.
On the back we see camera with flashlight and UMI logo.
The volume and power buttons are at the right side.
The right side is clear.
There’sa 3.5mm headphones jack at the top and microUSB with the mic and speaker at the bottom.
If we remove the back cover we see the built in 3050 mAh battery and three separate slots for microSIMs and microSD.
The smartphone is very light, only 130g.
It’s also pretty compact. Here are the dimensions: 139.8×69.8×8.9 mm
It feels nice even in a female tender hand, it’s very compact and you can easily use it with one hand.

DISPLAY:
UMI EMAX Mini has a Sharp 5.0” IPS OGS FHD 1080р capacitive touch screen. The viewing angles are perfect. Here are some real life photos:
The colors are very vivid and highly saturated.
The brightness is adjusted in a wide range, there aren’t any problems with using the smartphone under the bright sunlight.
FIRMWARE AND FEATURES:
UMI EMAX Mini is using Android 5.0.2 firmware with some improvements. See the screenshots:
When you open the folder at the desktop it opens with special animation and looks like this:
There are some additional Google services preinstalled and also an application for files sharing over WiFi:
Overall the interface looks bright and colorful, every standard application has it’s color:
For the purpose of reflashing and data backup there exists a very useful tool from the manufacturer called UMI ROOTJOY:
HARDWARE:
UMI EMAX Mini is based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (MSM8939) 1.5Ghz 64bit Cortex-A53 Octa core CPU with GPUAdreno 405. This chip is not the latest but still it’s commonly used in middle class devices.
As for the memory this smartphone features 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM which is just enough for everyday usage. If you lack internal memory it can be extended by using microSD cards.
This model also got a large variety of sensors, including very useful digital compass for navigation.
All in all this is a smoothly working smartphone which will come in handy in many usage scenarios, I should only admit that not all newest 3D games will run on the highest settings.

UMI EMAX Mini supports two microSIMs in dual stand-by mode with one slot providing 4G and 3G capabilities. Here are supported frequencies:

FDD-LTE 1800/2100/2600MHz
Smartphone handles the network connection very good, the signal is strong. Audibility is good, the phone conversation is clear for both sides.
Smartphone uses WiFi: 802.11 b/g/n 2.4G and power-saving Bluetooth 4.0 features for connectivity.
The navigation is just perfect as it’s usually with Qualcomm chips. It supports connection to 3 systems (GPS, GLONASSand BeiDou Navigation Satellite System) which in pair with digital compass provides very good positioning.
UMI EMAX Mini has fairly good and loud front and main speakers. Their volumes are decent as well as the quality of the sound and mic. The sound in earphones is also of high quality.
Besides there’s an interesting feature in the audio player. You can use it to try yourself as a DJ with different sound effects and two songs mixing.
UMI EMAX Mini is equipped with Sony IMX214 13-megapixel sensor with f/2.2 lens as the main camera and 8-megapixel f/2.2 front one. Photos are of decent quality with low noise:

UMI EMAX Mini features built-in battery of 3050 mAh. This smartphone lives up to 3 days of average usage for me with more than 6 hours of screen being on:
Antutu Battery 20% test lasted for 1,5 hours with the minimum screen brightness:

To sum everything up I should admit that UMI EMAX Mini is a universal nice and small smartphone which will suit perfectly women in white color and will come to the liking of men in dark variant.
