INRODUCTION

A few months ago, I’ve heard Cube would release a top-shelf tablet, which features MTK8392 octa core processor. After a long time waiting, I got it. As usual, it is a type of phablet (Phone&Tablet). Its 7mm thickness may astonish you at first sight, however, there are much more underneath the hood.

What’s in the box: the tablet, user manual (in English), power adapter, and USB cable (without earphone).

HARDWARE

Once MTK6592 gave me a surprise, however, MTK8392 (up to 2.0 GHz) shakes me this time. According to Media Tek, MTK8392 is designed for tablet, considering that MTK6592’s ability is limited to the narrow room in smartphone.

The front is all-glass, while the rear is covered by matte metal. And a silver ring runs around the screen panel. It feels very solid and comfortable when holding in one hand.

Earpiece and TF slot reside on the top, two speakers and micro-USB port sit on the bottom. Left has nothing, and the right has a power button and a volume rocker.

DISPLAY

Talk9X comes with a 9.7-inch IPS panel, with a resolution of 2048*1536. The same as iPad‘s Retina display. It offers natural colors with amazingly crisp fonts and a generally beautiful canvas for playing games or watching movies.

Reading with the tablet is a pleasure. The words are clear and viewing angle is wide enough.

PERFORMANCE

With octa core (up to 2GHz), 2GB RAM and Mali-450MP, it offers a solid performance. Here are benchmark scores (Antutu, Quadrant, NenaMark2)

The score 41094 on Antutu is highest I’ve seen. While the Vellamo and Nenamark’s score are decent. I think these scores are benefit from the MTK8392.

CAMERA

I take photos of the blue sky and the green leaves (with flashlight). The blue color seems natural, while the green is not as original as it is, maybe, the reason is the light is too low.
